New year´s fitness resolutions

30 December 2014 Konráð Valur Gíslason

As we come to the end of 2014 we start to think about some new years resolutions. Things or actions we could do better in the year 2015. Most people set their goals on the 31´st of Desember, full of hope and optimism but for some reason forget them in the end of January.

So what can we do to stick to our new year´s resolutions?

1. Write it down

Write your goals down on a paper and keep them where you can see them every day.

2. Put a number on it

Don´t say that your going to train more. Write down how many times a week your gonna train then it´s more likely that you´ll stick to it.

3. Don´t over do it

Keep it realistic. If you set your goals too high, your setting yourself up to fail.

4. Enlist help from others

Try to get your friends with you. If it´s your goal to go to the gym 5 times a week then call up your most energetic friend and get him to go with you.

5. Seek out the advice of an expert

Go see a trainer or a nutricionist if your goal is to get in a better shape.

6. Keep your goals mesurable

Set long time goals as well as short time goals. If it´s your desire to loose 12 kg in 6 months then you should weigh yourself every month and try to drop 2 kg, and every week and try to loose 500gr.

7. Don´t forget to reward youself

For every goal you reach, give yourself a reward. It doesn´t have to be much, a new pair of trainers or a massage should do it.
